Sorry Claus – I’m afraid I’m with the above gents on this – there’s nothing sexy or even remotely attractive about the Sonnet, least of all the convertible version, which just looks…wrong. And Soren and Kai are right, the 914 is a much better looking car.

@ce – I’d understand it more, Claus, if the cars were looked after properly and maintained in running condition, at least – to just stick them in a barn or similar and basically forget about them isn’t collecting, it’s hoarding combined with neglect.

I have negative feelings about collections like this and the people who assemble them. Why keep buying cars that are clearly never going to be driven or even cleaned, let alone restored? What’s the point? Is there one? Meanwhile dozens of cars that might otherwise have been available to real enthusiasts who would run and cherish them languish…[Læs mere]

A couple of photos (admittedly not great quality) from my visit to the Rosso Bianco back in 87 or 88 that should give an idea of some of the gems on display there.

I think I’ve just found a stopover on my next road trip to visit family in the south of Germany – that looks like a tremendous collection.
