And just as I thought I might not ever need a Porsche…dooh!
But agree with @nold: MUST be a great colour.
-
I saw this one at the Nürburgring, @tony – what a colour to the pure classic shape:
-
Yes for sure…
Evie – one of my grandchildren loves this colour – 140 goldmetallic and that car…
Nice report and nice day. -
@ce – agree completely; perfect!

I do like the colour … nice colour to green tinted windows and a nice car although it’s a Porsche….(Alpine A 110 owner)

I agree, @niels-v. You are both wrong on the GTC vs. Daytona-case, though :-)
Re. the Silverstone Classic: Agree that this is indeed the future. I was at those events back in 1997 and/or 1998, I think – and it was really great. Just as this one looks to have been.

Thank you very much for all the great photos you have posted. Seven Porsche 917’s are amazing and a very rare sight.
I was at he Le Mans Classic in 2023, and I agree with you. If you want to see rare and unique French cars – go to Le Mans Classic.
I saw this special built Michel Vaillante car in 2023 (cartoon hero in France) -
@tocoman, thanks – I did want to include a couple of short videos in the report to give an idea of the sound, but it seems problematic to load videos, unfortunately.

@tocoman, not only a hero in France, but also in Denmark – at least where I am!
Yes, @tony-wawryk, sorry: This basic ViaRETRO-website can’t really handle videofiles very well – but meanwhile there are thankfully other videos out there that illustrate your point. The beginning alone of this 50 minute long recap says loud and clear what you meant to say with your videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTKpoNvkBWM

-

The Loh Collection I can only recommend with the warmest of recommendations still: What an absolutely amazing place. Autoworld Bruxelles is fine to, but much more traditional in the approach – although I loved the Belgian angle of Michel Vaillant. Classic Remise Düsseldorf has been my home from away for a year and I love the place and how it has been restored and rethought.
And not least: The last museum I had never heard of and it is know on my list!

Cool thing, that Walker Elan GT – well spotted! Also well judged on the BMW E24: You SHOULD have changed the wheels – and everybody would have saluted you :-).
At first I didn’t get your comment about the Alpine that were NOT A110’s, but then I spotted the number of those. Ahh, got it! Love the modern A110, actually, but still prefer the older ones – miss my old A310 V6 from time to time and am currently very drawn to the fact that the GTA and GT and Turbo offer incredible value for money.
But then again: Isn’t that red one a Rover Tomcat? Right at the top of the “Back for the Buck”-tree!
Lotus Elite still the most beautiful of them all. Would look nice next to Emma my Elan.
@ce – yes, it is a Rover Tomcat, though it wasn’t marketed under that name here in the UK, that was just an internal designation. However, it did lead to a short-lived race series called the Dunlop Rover Tomcat Race Series (had to look that up!). It certainly provided a lot of performance for the money in Turbo form, a sound alternative to the Calibra and Corrado, with the advantage of having a T-bar glass panel roof arrangement.
I agree with you regarding the modern A110 – there must have been c.25+ in total there.
