I thought that Prelude was terrific value for money, I’ll be surprised if it didn’t sell at the show.

Peerless’s (or should that be Peerlesses?) show up occasionally at classic events here in the UK, but not often – four of them (of c.50 that survive) turned up at the Chiltern Hills Rally that went to back in May 2019 – here’s two of them. The Felicia Fun sold today for £10,687 including commissions. Looked OK, but too many varieties of yellow even for me.

A Skoda Felicia Fun is on offer at the NEC Classic auction this weekend – offered without reserve. The yellow exterior I like (surprise!) and also the yellow dials, but the rest, not so much. Will take a closer look at it on Saturday.

Forgot the 190SL, one of the most elegant cars ever made…hmm…maybe the ’50s (certainly the late ’50s) is more in my sweet spot than I thought.

The trend for ’50s classics to fall in price is also clear here in the UK and perhaps the best example is the Jaguar XK. While few are as cheap as the example above, they are at least 25-30% cheaper than only 3-4 years ago.

I think it’s the sheer variety of classics, from the everyday to the exotic, that turn up at a Bicester Scramble that make such events so interesting, and why I keep going back, even after having been to probably 12-15 over the last few years; there are always some surprises.

What a great event Luftgekühlt looks like – thanks for the report and photos, Michael, Tina. It reminds me quite a bit of the Megaphonics event I went to last month, with many very special Porsches. One of my fellow Porsche Club GB members drove to Copenhagen for it, said he had an excellent time. I’ll have to keep an eye open to see if it comes to the UK.

I have to say that interesting though it is, the Karisma doesn’t really “float my boat”, as we say in England, but that 911 Spyder…now that is lovely, they should have made that – looks better than any 911 cabrio.
